Lisa Pyburn, Riding Instructor

Lisa Pyburn brings over 20 years of experience as a professional saddle seat riding instructor to Long Hollow Farm.  In charge of “making dreams come true,” Lisa has put countless numbers of beginning children and adult riding (and driving) students in the ring for the first time.  Utilizing the farm’s lesson horses to carefully learn the skills necessary to pilot a horse in the show ring, Lisa develops a customized lesson program for each student.

Safety is the utmost priority for every person and horse at Long Hollow Farm, and it starts with the riding lesson program. Riders must be able to control the horse´s movement (direction and speed) and respond to unexpected changes before moving to the next level, whether that is riding in company with other horses, moving to the next skill level of horse, or riding in your first academy horse show!

While many breed or riding disciplines give instruction in the group setting, at Long Hollow Farm, all students at all levels are instructed in private lessons.

When it is time for the rider to progress to owning and showing their own horse, Lisa´s personal experience in showing numerous champions at all levels of competition and her unique 14-year partnership with Donnie make the transition from "instructor" to "coach" a seamless one. Whether you are selecting your first show horse, making a move up to the next level of competition, or returning to show ring competition after some other part of "life" intervened, the Pyburn team will devote its energies and attention to every aspect of preparation to make YOUR dreams come true.
